Taapsee Pannu is someone who needs to be applauded for having made it to Bollywood (and that too this far), without the help or handholding of any ‘proverbial’ Godfather. What you see is what you get, as far as the fiery actress is concerned. Always the one who is known to speak her heart out, she has always been vocal about something that she feels should be voiced. Ditto with her characters (mostly) that she has played in her films.

Lucky man to be the best half of her life is none other than...

After delivering the gigantic hit in the form of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki, Taapsee still continues to make news. This time round, for her personal reasons. After playing the yes-yes-no-no game with the media, her fans and followers, Taapsee Pannu finally decided to declare that she is married. And the lucky man to be the best half of her life is none other than Mathias Boe, her boyfriend of many years.

Here's why Taapsee chose to ditch the lehenga in her wedding!

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Taapsee Pannu replied to the most eternal question, which was kind of playing on every mind as far as her marriage was concerned. The question was that, with so much (read ‘almost everything’) going for her, why, unlike other celebrity brides, she chose to ditch the lehenga and went on to opt for a traditional salwaar kameez and juttis for her big day!

As a reply to the aforementioned question, Taapsee Pannu said (read ‘revealed’) that it was actually a friend of hers who had designed all her bridal outfits. She elaborated stating that she had grown up seeing Sikh and Gurudwara weddings. And that’s why, for her, the vintage and classic idea of getting married was always in a proper red salwar kameez paired with a dupatta with kinari on the border.

She explained it further saying, that was the only way she knew a bride looked like a bride and that it just did not feel like a real wedding vibe to her to imagine herself dressing up in pastel hued lehengas!

She also added that, when one has some big name on board, the chances of the news getting leaked out are very high, and that’s why she wanted to keep it very private. Hence, she, along with her college friend Mani Bhatia designed all her outfits, which was how she wanted them. As an icing on the cake, Taapsee Pannu said that she did not have any lehenga in her wedding because she wanted to dance a lot at all functions! Touché Taapsee!

On the professional front, she will now be seen with Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal, and Fardeen Khan in Khel Khel Mein, which is being readied to be released in theatres on 6 September 2024.
