It has been nine years since Kriti Sanon made her debut in Bollywood with the film Heropanti. This film was moderately successful at the box office and minted a little over Rs 50 crores globally. Soon after the release of this film, Kriti decided to make a remarkable mark in the industry.
And she did it with grace! Sanon's career progressed as she featured in commercially successful romantic comedies like Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017) and Luka Chuppi (2019) to name a few. She even won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for playing the titular role of a surrogate mother in Mimi (2021).
Not only this, but Sanon also appeared in Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list of 2019.
With these little yet significant achievements, Kriti Sanon is all set to feature next in Prabhas-starrer Adipurush wherein she will be portraying the role of Goddess Janaki. This mythological drama is all set to release at the theatres on June 16 in India. If reports are to be believed, this film is believed to be one of the most expensive films produced in India so far and is budgeted at ₹665 crore.
Ahead of the release of Adipurush, a report by Pinkvilla today believes that Sanon is all set to become a producer soon. A source close to the development told the news portal: “Kriti has always been very keen to explore different aspects of filmmaking, and has a keen interest in production too. So when she heard this script, she not only wished to star in it but also wanted to back it too. It’s a slice-of-life drama, which will get an OTT release.”
Most likely, Kriti will spill details about the project next year. In 2024, the 32-year-old will clock 10 years in the industry.
Meanwhile, Sanon will soon also star with Tabu and Kareena Kapoor in the female-led film The Crew.
