Actor Akhil Akkineni's fourth film as a lead actor, Most Eligible Bachelor, a romantic comedy where he teams up with Pooja Hegde, has been in the making for over two years now. The shoot of the film, directed by Bommarillu, Parugu-fame filmmaker Bhaskar, was stalled midway during the COVID-19 pandemic last year. Though the team shot for the film during the unlock phase in 2020, the shoot was further delayed in 2021 owing to the second wave of the pandemic. Telugu Bulletin has now reported that Most Eligible Bachelor, only a week's shoot away from completion, may opt for a direct-to-OTT release later this year.

The portal says that one of the major OTT platforms has approached the makers for a direct digital release. Reportedly, GA2 Pictures is keen on taking up the offer from the platform and the deal may be official in a matter of a few days or weeks. The fancy price quoted by the OTT platform is expected to give a decent profit margin for the producers. Interestingly, one of the film's producers is Allu Aravind, founder of aha.

Most Eligible Bachelor has music by Gopi Sundar. The makers have already released three songs from the film, Guche Gulabi, Ye Zindagi, Manasa Manasa, and all have opened to positive responses. The teaser of the film garnered over 9 million views as well. Akhil has already begun working on Agent, his next with Surender Reddy, while Pooja Hegde is awaiting the release of Radhe Shyam and Acharya in the coming months.
