Hollywood star Will Smith’s upcoming flick, Emancipation production is currently put on halt. As per a report in Deadline, one of the crew members was tested positive for coronavirus, following this, other members have to quarantine in Louisiana.

Starting from Tuesday, the crew members who have come in contact with the infected member have to isolate themselves for five days. Filming of Emancipation commenced only a few weeks ago and Apple TV+ is hoping that this wouldn’t affect the timetable of the film.

The film is being directed by Antoine Fuqua and there is some buzz about the movie as Will Smith has signed the deal. However, since the Delta Variant of coronavirus continues to hit hard, there has been a chilling effect on theatre attendance according to a lot of experts.

Recently, the production of the film Clifford the Big Red Dog was pulled from Paramount's release schedule and the new release date is yet to be fixed. Hopefully, this is just a small obstacle and is expected to recover from it soon. The fans are keeping their eyes out for further updates.

The new update is that The Pursuit of Happyness star and Antoine Fuqua will not be filming their forthcoming flick in Georgia anymore.

Smith is expected to play the role of a runaway slave named Peter in the movie. He fled that life in Louisiana after enduring physical torture that he almost died. Peter teams up with the Union army to free the slaves. The movie is based out on true events and the photograph The Scourged Back from an issue of The Independent in May of 1963.
