Will Tripti Dimri play Dona in Sourav Ganguly’s biopic?

Speculations over Sourav Ganguly’s biopic do not seem to end.  People have been eagerly waiting for the cast announcement for the last three years. It has been reported that Ayushman Khurrana will play the Prince of Calcutta. The actor started practicing for the biopic. But who will play Sourav’s wife Dona? Now, Sourav’s daughter Sana selected her onscreen mother. 

Sourav revealed her daughter’s wish to Sangbad Pratidin. Sana wants Tripti Dimri to play Dona. Tripti, famous for the movie Animal, is popular among viewers. Her bold performance with Ranbir Kapoor in Sandeep Reddi Vanga’s film has made her a national sensation. She has a lot of projects now, including Karan Johar’s Dhadak 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa’s sequel with Kartik Aaryan. The question is, will the makers fulfill Sana’s wish? Sourav also supported Sana and said, ‘Sana advised to take Tripti Dimri to play Dona. Dona saw Tripti and said the actress was more beautiful than her.” 

A celebrated Bollywood director will make the biopic. This is Ankur Garg’s dream project. Who will be the director? Reports say that Vikramaditya Motwane might direct the film. He created buzz by making films like Lootera, Udaan, and Bhavesh Joshi Superhero. Last year he made the series Jubilee which was the talk of the town. So, it will be a terrific project if Vikramaditya directs the film.
