Malayalam film Turbo is getting ready for a big theatrical release on May 23. According to recent reports, Aadujeevitham, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, made Rs 23.2 crore in Kerala alone, making it this year's highest grossing Malayalam film in opening weekend.

Fans of Mammootty, meanwhile, are excited to see the much-awaited action-drama smash box office records this year and carry on the successful run of the Malayalam film industry. The movie has a good chance of becoming the fifth Malayalam film to break the Rs. 100 crore mark at the global box office if it receives positive reviews upon its premiere.

Will Turbo cross Aadujeevitham’s opening weekend record?

With two days remaining before the movie's release, Turbo's pre-sales in Kerala have already surpassed the Rs. 1 crore mark, while Aadujeevitham's impressive online pre-sales in Kerala totaled Rs 3.5 crore. Expectations are high among fans of the actor and movie buffs worldwide because the action drama stars Mammootty, along with prominent actors from other film industries. Turbo, the Malayalam megastar—who has had a fantastic start to the year with Abraham Ozler and Bramayugam—should bring a large audience to the theatres.

Aadujeevitham is currently showing in theatres all over the world without any word on when it will be available on streaming services. Prithviraj-starrer Guruvayoorambala Nadayil, which released on May 16, has also made Rs 17.8 cr in its opening weekend.

Excellent pre-sales for Mammootty’s Turbo

Recent reports from sources indicate that Turbo's advance booking began very well everywhere in the world. Because of the tremendous pre-release buzz, the Mammootty-starrer, which is preparing for a huge worldwide release, has been seeing extraordinary booking rates. The film has now grossed Rs 2 crore in pre-sales worldwide.
