War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, and is being directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film is part of YRF’s successful Spy Universe, which already includes titles like Pathaan and Tiger 3. Coolie, on the other hand, is one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the year, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for his thrilling storytelling.

This clash is bound to divide the audience, given that both films have massive fan bases and enormous buzz in the market. It brings to mind what Maddock Films did with Chhaava when they averted a clash with Pushpa 2 by shifting their release date.

What’s interesting is how the release date was revealed. A fan-created chat video celebrating War 2 caught the attention of YRF’s social media team. In response to the fan tweet, the official YRF account (on X, formerly Twitter) casually confirmed the release date: “Must say… you have set it up brilliantly even before we have started our marketing of #War2. There will be mayhem in cinemas on 14 August 2025, worldwide...”
