Shraddha Srinath’s next project comes in the form of Witness, a social drama focussing on an important issue plaguing the present day Indian society. The makers announced the multilingual film, which also stars Rohini Molleti, today and released a first look poster for the same.
The first look poster of the film was unveiled today by People Media Factory, the production company bankrolling the film. The poster features Srinath and Molleti with intense looks on their faces, amidst a group of people. Below them is a powerful image of a hand reaching out from a sewer, and a bucket and rope beside it.

The upcoming film is directed by Deepak. The director also shared the first look poster of the film with a hard-hitting caption, part of which reads, “‘Witness’ The two extreme realities lurking behind Indian cities, the heavy stain settled on the heart of India and the tragedy of the sewer deaths that are happening everyday right before our eyes, have all been powerfully portrayed in the movie.” Deepak will also serve as the film’s cinematographer.
In the poster, the makers talked about how the film, which has wrapped up its shoot, will deal with the ‘21st Century's Gravest Crime’. The premise of the film will revolve around manual scavenging, a profession that has claimed the lives of many people, almost all of them from marginalised communities.
Srinath will essay the role of an architect in the film, which also features Shanmugaraja, G. Selva, Subathra Robert, Rajeev Anand and M.A.K Ram in pivotal roles. The film’s screenplay has been penned by Muthuvel and JP Sanakya. T G Vishwa Prasad has produced the film and Vivek Kuchibhotla serves as the film’s co-producer.
Witness will premiere in theatres in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Tamil. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
