Jitendra Kumar might have come on board for Mirzapur: The Film because of Vikrant Massey, if a PeepingMoon report is anything to go by. Jitendra might be the new Bablu Bhaiya in the movie. The character, that is Ali Fazal's brother in the world of Mirzapur, was originally portrayed by Vikrant Massey.

Why didn't Vikrant Massey take up the role of Bablu bhaiya again?
According to the very report, back when Vikrant had joined Mirzapur, he hoped to have a longer graph as Bablu Bhaiya. However, his character was killed off early, thus leaving the actor disappointed. Thus, he decided not to reprise the character and have him die again in the movie. That is why the makers approached other actors, and Jitendra Kumar agreed on the role.
