Actor-director Duniya Vijay is, no doubt, immensely proud that he’s been picked to play the antagonist in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 107thfilm, to be directed by Gopichand Mallineni. Tentatively called #NBK107, the film also has Shruthi Haasan and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar on board, among many others. From mid-January, Vijay will spend the next 4-5 months in Hyderabad to finish this commitment.
In a recent interview with a portal, Vijay said that he is proud to have been chosen for this role. “I also realize that it is an immense responsibility that I am now shouldering. All eyes will be on me as to what I will go there and do. I also have to be extra careful about my work and do my best, because I am going there as a representative of Kannada cinema. I am going to be opposite none other than Balaya, so there will be attention on me,” says the actor.
Is he preparing himself for the role? “Not really, but I know that I have to pay special attention to the action sequences, because unlike here, I am only the antagonist, so the body language will have to be in accordance with that. Having said that, I want to make sure that my performance turns out well, and I am sure that all will be well once I am on the set. There is a certain energy and vibe on a film set, which just brings out your creative juices. That apart, the team has asked me to maintain the bearded salt-and-pepper look that I am sporting now. There maybe minute changes to it, but this is more or less how I will look in #NBK107,” he says.
Has Vijay spoken to him Balaya yet? “We’ve spoken once, during which he mentioned that he heard that I do action sequences well and said that he was preparing himself to take me on onscreen. He was very sweet and cordial and I am looking forward to meeting him again,” said Vijay.
