Dialogue writer-turned-actor LB Sriram, who's undoubtedly one of the best character artistes that Telugu cinema has ever produced, wasn't particularly happy with the films he has been offered in the recent years. He took to the digital medium to satiate his creative urge, both as an actor and director. LB Sriram appeared in a few odd web shows like Gods of Dharmapuri, the web sequel to the popular sit-com Amrutham and was mostly occupied in directing and acting in several short films that were later uploaded on his Youtube channel. Now, it looks like the veteran is finding offers in mainstream Telugu cinema that are appealing to him.
On his Facebook profile, LB Sriram left a note, "Good news for those who've been waiting to see me on the big screen again. Acting in a flurry of commercial films after a lot of gap! Some of these projects including Kiran Abbavaram's Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha, RGV's Konda, Kartikeya's next film (in a motivational role), Suneel Kumar Reddy's next (where I play a journalist), my assistant Harinath Puli's Revu (As a narrator) and as poet Viswanatha Satyanarayana in Savith C Chandra's directorial. I'm coming with all the enthusiasm and excitement again and hope to receive your love."
Looks like LB Sriram is committed to make up for the lost time, acting in a little more than half a dozen films. In the last few years, LB Sriram expressed his disappointment that most directors are only offering him emotional, sympathetic roles and many have forgotten his ability to do comedy too. In a phase when Telugu cinema is on the cusp of a makeover, there can't be a better time than now for the veteran to make a comeback with a bang. It'll be interesting to see what dimension of LB Sriram would these films tap into!
