One of the few surprise hits of 2023 and a rare small-budget film that made noise at the ticket window, Writer Padmabhushan, is OTT bound. After releasing in theatres on February 4, the Suhas, Tina Shilparaj, opened to terrific responses from critics and crowds alike. Thanks to aggressive marketing from Chai Bisket Films post its release, the footfalls were impressive even on weekdays.

Gouri Priya, Rohini Molleti, Ashish Vidyarthi, Goparaju Ramana played other important roles in the film, written and directed by Shanmukha Prashanth. From the decent music score to terrific performances from the lead actors to superb dialogues and clean humour, Writer Padmabhushan had many reasons behind its long run at the theatres for over a month now.

ZEE5 acquired the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights for a fancy price, which ensured that the makers registered profits even before it hit screens. Today, the OTT platform confirmed that the family entertainer would be premiering digitally on March 17. Given the buzz surrounding the film, it’s likely to perform equally well on OTT and reach more audiences across the globe.
