A cop drama that shines a light on the inner turmoil of a police officer torn between his sacred duty and his well-being, Writer, is all set to thrill audiences on OTT. The film will be released on a popular streaming platform this month.
What is Writer about?
The crime thriller revolves around the story of Thangaraj, a writer at a police station in Trichy, who bears witness to a dismal incident that comes to the police station. Deeply moved, he tries to gather as much evidence as he can on the same, but finds himself having to face off against several obstacles, including threats made by his superior officers who warn him against further investigations. But despite it all, Thangaraj refuses to let anything stop him in his pursuit for justice.
Who are the cast and crew behind Writer?
Writer stars Samuthirakani in the role of the protagonist, Thangaraj. The film also features Dileeban, Ineya, Harikrishnan Anbudurai, Subramaniam Shiva and Bose Venkat, among others, in crucial roles.
The film is directed by Franklin Jacob in his directorial debut, and produced under the banners of Neelam Productions in association with Golden Ratio Films, Little Red Car Films and Jetty Productions. The film features cinematography by Pratheep Kaliraja, while its music has been composed by Govind Vasantha. When it comes to choreography, Satish Krishnan has handled the film’s dance choreography while the action choreography was done by Sudesh.

Writer had been released in theatres on December 24, 2021. The film will be available to stream on the recently formed platform of aha Tamil, which exclusively offers Tamil content, from February 11, 2022 onwards.
