Writer Vivek on friendship with Varisu star Thalapathy Vijay: 'Some bonds are beyond words'

Screenwriter and lyricist Vivek has tweeted a picture of himself with Tamil superstar Vijay. In the picture, Vijay could be seen pecking Vivek on the cheek. He noted that Vijay looks after him like a 'big brother' in the industry. 

"Some bonds are beyond words. In this unbelievable journey with you, u loved n cared for me like a big brother. All I ever want is best things to happen to best soul like u. In my artistic journey, Nothings gona beat this beautiful frozen moment. Love you for life My Thalapathy," Vivek tweeted, along with the picture.

Vivek wrote the dialogues and all the songs of Vijay's recent blockbuster Varisu. Written and directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the film became one of the highest-grossing films of this year. During the audio release event of the film, Vijay appreciated Vivek's contribution to Varisu and he noted that there was a promising film director in him. 

Vivek has been a permanent presence in all of Vijay's films in the last few years. He wrote songs for VIjay's all blockbusters including Mersal, Sarkar, Bigil, Beast and Varisu. However, his work on Varisu extended beyond writing lyrics. He played a huge role in writing the dialogue with heavy-pop cultural references that resonated with the Tamil audience worldwide. Varisu is said to have earned over Rs 300 crore from its worldwide theatrical run. The film is set to debut on Prime Video on February 22. 

It remains to be seen whether Viviek has worked on the songs for Vijay's upcoming film Leo. Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film's production is going on in full swing in Kashmir. It's one of the highly-awaited films in Vijay's career. It's also part of the crime cinematic universe created by Lokesh. 

Leo is expected in cinemas in October this year.
