X=Prem music album launch: Shreya Ghoshal says music composed by debutant Sanai is 'astounding'

Director Srijit Mukherji’s film X=Prem is all set to release on May 13 and it features Anindya Sengupta, Shruti Das, Arjun Chakraborty and Madhurima Basak in the lead roles. The captivating music album of ‘X=Prem’ was unveiled at a grand launch event, in the presence of the star cast, music team and the director. This is Mukherji’s first romantic venture. His fans and audience have been sending umpteen requests to him to try his hands in this genre for a long time. And it’s finally going to arrive soon.

Music plays a key role in the narrative of X=Prem and the album has six exquisite tracks, composed by debutant composer Saptak Das who’s better known as ‘Shanai’ amongst his peers.

Some of the most melodious singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Arijit Singh, Sahana Bajpaie, Samantak Sinha and others have given their voice for the songs of the album. The lyrics of the songs have been penned by Dhrubojyoti Chakraborty, Subrata Barishwala Barish and Srijit Mukherji. Srijit Mukherji wrote the lyrics for the song ‘Raikishori’. Shreya Ghosal has delivered her voice to one song in the album, Bhalobashar Morshum and Arijit Singh has done the male version of the same song

Director Srijit Mukherji said in his statement that he always tries to work on something unique. "I wanted to try a different genre infusing science and love together and that’s how X=Prem shaped up. I believe that music plays a very important part while dealing with romance. I am highly satisfied with the music of ‘X=Prem’ and the credit of these 6 beautiful tracks goes to our composer Sanai,” he said. Shreya Ghoshal agreed. She said that the music composed by the debutant Sanai is 'astounding'. She said she is sure that her song ‘Bhalobashar Morshum’ will be loved by the listeners. She expressed her happiness in working with Srijit after a several years. "The treatment of this film is very unique and the black and white tone of the movie is something that I am really looking forward to,” she said.

X=Prem deals with the complexities of human emotions and the selflessness of love as well as the ache one has to encounter in their lifetime. The film went on floors in July, last year and it was mostly shot in and around Kolkata. The concluding part was shot in Karnataka.

X=Prem is backed by SVF and is coming to a theatre near you on May 13.
