In the last few months, Tollywood has witnessed several new talents acting in and directing Telugu films. Adding to that list is Jagadeesh Amanchi, who is now ready with his new film Yamudu, which he has acted in, produced, and directed.
The action drama comes with the tagline Dharmo Rakshati Rakshita and has completed its shoot. The post-production work is progressing at a brisk pace, and today, the makers released the first look. The honors were performed by noted producer Raj Kandukuri, who produced the hit film Pelli Choopulu with Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role.
Along with the poster, the makers also announced that the film will be released in the last week of December on a grand scale. Shravani Shetty plays the female lead in this action drama. Akash Challa plays the second hero in Yamudu, and his look will be revealed soon.
Speaking on the occasion, director and lead actor Jagadeesh Amanchi revealed that Yamudu is about a man who appears in the form of Yama, the god of death, and punishes those who commit crimes in society. The film draws inspiration from the Garuda Purana and promises to be a riveting drama, according to the director.
A special aspect of the film is its connection to the 2005 film Aparichitudu, which starred Vikram in the lead role. Jagadeesh says the exact link will only be revealed when audiences watch the film on the big screen.
Ram Sunkara composed the action sequences for the film, while Vishnu Reddy Vanga is the cinematographer. Though the film has been made on a compact budget, the makers promise rich visuals. Bhavani Rakesh composed the music, and Shiva Kundrapu penned the screenplay. Rajaani Amanchi co-produced the film, and the trailer will be released soon.
