Yash 19 confirmed: Rocking Star Yash & Geetu Mohandas all set to take film on floors

According to the latest reports, Rocking Star Yash is confirmed to work Malayalam filmmaker Geetu Mohandas on the most anticipated film, Yash 19. The duo have been rumoured to collaborate on this rather high-profile project which, one gathers, has been in development for quite sometime now. Yash 19, of course, will Yash's follow-up film to KGF 2 which explains all the hysteria that currently surrounds the film.

Pinkvilla's latest exclusive report shares that according to a source close to this project, Yash has finally committed to work with Geetu Mohandas and the film will go on floors later this year, in December. The same report adds that the 37-year-old actor took great measures to ensure that he chose the right script to back-up his monumental success and that having been offered various scripts, it was Geetu Mohandas' film that struck a chord with him. 

Yash still in the race to play Raavan in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana?

Another big project that Yash is associated with is Hindi filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. The actor is currently in talks to play the chief antagonist of the epic, Raavan, and should he agree and the rest fall in place, he will most likely share screen with Ranbir Kapoor. The 'Animal' actor is set to play Rama with Sai Pallavi, reportedly, approached to play Sita.

Yash, who is said to have undergone multiple look tests for the role recently, is expected to give his affirmative very soon to Nitesh Tiwari & Co. The latest reports suggest that he also has multiple projects from different film industries but it will be a while before there's more clarity offered on them.

As far as Yash 19 is concerned, speculations are rife at the moment about the film being a period crime/gangster drama that will take us back in time to the 1960s, with Goa as its main setting. The film is said to be centred around the Russian mafia and other drug/crime syndicates that were rampant in the said era and considering that Geetu Mohandas is at the helm, we could expect something novel to come out of this intriguing idea. In the past, she has spoken of making a gangster drama with a female gaze but one awaits the official confirmation to know more about this.
