Popular Bengali actor Yash Dasgupta and Ena Saha are all set to collaborate for the second time in Shieladitya Moulik’s Cheene Badam. The two were last seen in SOS Kolkata. Cheene Badaam is touted to be a love story set in the modern day. The details for the film are kept in wraps but the shooting is slated to begin from September 16. As per reports, the shooting of the film is scheduled to take place in and around Kolkata.
The Gangster actor has confirmed the news. Speaking to Times of India, he said that he looks forward to working with her again after SOS Kolkata. He did not let on further details on the film. He added that he has watched Shieladitya’s Sweater and liked it.
The director Shieladitya Moulik opened up on the central premise of the film as a ‘contemporary love story’ which will connect well with the audience. The film, he said to ToI, will delve into the ‘human touch’ of relationships, which is getting lost increasingly due to the mobile phone addiction and virtual nature of human relationships. Being hooked to mobile phones also bears an impact on the one-to-one equation between the couple, and the director of the film has stated that the film revolves around this concept. Yash plays Rishabh, who has completed his studies abroad and has just got back to Kolkata. However, here, his relationship with Trishna played by Ena turns rocky. “A clash develops between Rishab and Trishna (Ena) as Rishab fails to balance his professional and personal life,” he added. How the narrative unfolds from there is what forms the crux of the film.
Yash Dasgupta was last seen in the Bengali action thriller SOS Kolkata, alongside Mimi Chakraborty, Nusrat Jahan and Sabyasachi Chakraborty. The plot of the Anshuman Pratyush directorial was about the army, police and the masses joining hands to foil a planned terrorist attack.
More details about Cheene Badam are awaited.
