Yatra 2 is the biopic of AP CM, YS Jagan. Mahi V Raghav has directed it and news has come out that the CM has gifted him land in AP for making the film. The director has responded to it.
Director Mahi V Raghav
Mahi V Raghav is one of the most talented directors in Telugu cinema. His latest film, Yatra 2 was released on February 9, 2024, with a decent word of mouth. As the film was a biopic on AP CM, YS Jagan, there has been a rumor going around that Mahi has benefitted big time by making the film for YS Jagan.
The news is that he has received two acres of land in the Madanapalle area of Andhra Pradesh as a gift. As this news has gone viral, Mahi V Raghav has responded quite strongly to the criticism. "If my intention is not to develop and contribute to my region, I would have asked for a place to build a studio in Hyderabad or Vizag. Why would I want to build a studio at Madanapalle, which is considered a backward area," says Mahi V Raghav.
The popular director also adds that he has been working as a writer, producer, and director in the film industry for 16 years and shot his projects Saithaan, Yatra 2, and Siddha Lokamela Undi in Madanapalle and Kadapa areas by splurging Rs 20 -25 crore over these three projects.
"I want to contribute to the place where I was born. By shooting films over there, locals will benefit as lodges, hotels, food, and juniors are needed while shooting these films. During this journey, I have decided to build a mini studio in Rayalaseema. I intend to help the local people with this studio and what is wrong with this?" asks Mahi Raghav.
The Shaitan director also adds that during all these years, no one came forward from the industry for the betterment of Rayalaseema and now that he is doing it, everyone in the media and opposition has issues with it. So far, Mahi has made Village Lo Vinayakudu, Kudirite Cuppu Coffee, Paathasala, Anando Brahma, Yatra, Siddha Lokam Ela Undi, Yatra 2 and web series, Save The Tigers and Saithaan.
