Netizens have been demanding the sequel of Ranbir Kapoor's Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani for quite some time now. Every time the cast members promote their other projects or give interviews, this is a common question that is asked. In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Kunal Roy Kapur opened up about the sequel. He reacted to Kalki's old comment when she said that there was no need for the sequel. Kunal agreed with the same and said that the film is already 'complete'.
He told the portal, "It is complete. It is already done right? The journeys of those characters are done. They are not needed really." Further, when he was asked if Aditi and Taran would stay together after all these years, he said, "Given the graph of the movie, they would not be in a divorce court. They would definitely be a happily married couple. I can’t tell if she would be happily married with Taran, but he would probably be happy."
During a live chat in the past, Ranbir revealed that Ayan had an interesting story for the sequel. While hinting at the possibility of YJHD 2, the actor said, "I think Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani would make a good sequel. Ayan also had a very interesting story. But then he went into this Brahmastra journey. But, never say never. He might make it after a couple of years. I believe the story will continue ten years later when Bunny, Naina, Avi, and Aditi are living their lives. I believe it will be extremely interesting and fun to investigate those characters."
