Yeno Onthara from The Devil: Now that the surprise of Darshan playing double roles in The Devil has been revealed, the makers have dropped a song featuring the other avatar of the actor.

When the makers of The Devil released three songs from the film, all of them were about the title character and even though there was one more song on the album, they could not reveal it without spoiling the suspense around Darshan’s double roles. Now that The Devil is in theatres and everyone knows that Darshan plays two characters – Dhanush and Krishna – it is safe for them to release the fourth song from the album. Called Yeno Onthara Chanda, this is also a romantic number, albeit between Krishna and Rukmini (Rachana Rai), a full video of which has now been revealed.

In the run-up to the release of the film, producer Thashwini Prakash had said that a fourth song would drop on release day or a day or two later and she’s delivered on that promise. Earlier on December 12, which was The Devil’s original release date, Yeno Onthara, came out. Sung by Kantara Chapter 1’s Brahmakalasha fame Abby V, along with Harshika Devanath, this song revolves around the genuine love and affection that Krishna and Rukmini have for each other.

Onde Ondu Sala, which was the second song to be released, turns out to be a dream sequence between Darshan’s character Dhanush and Rukmini, once he lays eyes on her. The film, meanwhile, released to mixed reviews, but has had a stupendous opening day. How it performs in the days ahead, especially since there’s Akhanda 2 also in the mix now and Avatar Fire and Ash releases next week, remains to be seen.
The film, according to sources, has been made at a budget of close to Rs 60 crore, a significantly higher figure than earlier envisioned, owing to the one-year delay in getting it to theatres. The Devil was meant to be a December 2024 release, which did not happen due to Darshan’s ongoing legal issues.
