Yessma: Malayalam OTT platform for adult content goes live with Lakshmi Dheeptha’s Nancy

While the pandemic has spurred the OTT boom in India, Malayalam is probably the language with the most number of content streaming platforms. The latest to join the list is Yessma, which is touted to be the first ever Malayalam digital platform launched to exclusively stream adult content.

Yessma went live with its first film Nancy, which is helmed by Lakshmi Dheeptha, and the makers also unveiled the platform’s three subscription plans that start from Rs 111 per month.

Those behind the platform had reportedly said the idea to launch an adult-only platform was taken by considering the changes that have happened to everyone’s lives since the pandemic, reports Kaumudi Online.

Yessma’s website is currently streaming only one film, which is Nancy. The erotic movie, which has Anjana, Jai and Sajna as part of the cast, has Amal as its cinematographer and Jinu as its editor. The film’s synopsis reveals that it revolves around the titular character Nancy, who lives alone and longs for love as her husband is abroad. Her loneliness also convinces her that she was kidnapped as a child when she meets an elderly couple whose daughter has been missing for 30 years.

Kerala has seen an influx of OTT platforms since the pandemic with Neestream, Saina Play, Jaiho, Matinee, SS Frames, High Hopes, Koode, Ekam OTT as well as a proposed State-run streaming service named CSpace.

Meanwhile, Yessma’s team in a press statement had also said that though there are similar platforms abroad as well as India in other languages such as Marathi, Hindi, Bangla and Telugu, this is the first time that such an OTT service is made available in Malayalam.

Other platforms streaming extensive adult content in India include Ullu, Prime Flix, KindiBox, NueFlicks and Kooku. ALT Balaji too streams erotic content with shows such as Gandii Baat and X.X.X.
