Yogi Babu's next film, a full-length political comedy titled Medical Miracle, began with a simple puja, recently in Chennai.
The film is being directed by Johnson K, who is known for having delivered comedy films such as A1 and Paris Jeyaraj; and will feature actress Dharsha Gupta along with Yogi Babu in the lead.
Interestingly, Johnson, apart from directing the film, is also turning producer with this film. Johnson's production house, A1 Productions is producing Medical Miracle, which will be an out-and-out comedy.
Sources close to the unit of the film say that Yogi Babu plays an Ola cab driver in the film, which will also feature Mansoor Ali Khan, Kalki, Madurai Muthu, Seshu, Nanjil Sampath, KPY Vinod and music director Siddharth Vipin among others.
Music for the film will be by Siddharth Vipin and cinematography will be by Manikandaraja. Editing will be by Tamizhkumaran and Art direction will be by Raja.
Speaking about his brand of comedy, Yogi Babu, in an interview, said he neither writes his lines nor asks for a bound script. "I trust my directors completely. Usually, they come to me with a definite storyline. I just have to follow their lines and improvise as necessary."
Yogi Babu considers every film to be significant. Whether it's in film or life, I believe that if someone waits for the most ideal opportunity rather than seizing what comes their way, they will never find success. Any actor should take on a role, no matter how small, and try to make it their own."
Yogi Babu has a special bond with Vijay Sethupathi, one of his co-stars. "We spent a great deal of time together during the shoot of Junga. I enjoy hearing him talk about life, and try to imbibe the things I like," he told the Hindu.
It is wonderful how he remembers the people who initially helped him. He is grateful to director Sundar C and Ram Bala (Lollu Sabha), who gave him opportunities that he might have otherwise missed.
Yogi Babu, whose latest releases include Beast and Koogle Kuttappa, has multiple projects in his kitty, including Yaanai, Ayalaan, Thalapathy 66, The Legend, and Naane Varuven, among others.
