Yogi Babu's comedy entertainer Panni Kutty to release on July 8, alongside Iravin Nizhal and Andhagan

Panni Kutty, which has a host of comedians, also marks the return of well-known Tamil orator-comedian Dindugal Leoni to the big screen.

Director Anucharan’s much-awaited Panni Kutty, featuring comedians Yogi Babu and Karunakaran in lead roles, will release on July 8. Lyca Productions, the firm bankrolling it, confirmed the news on social media.

Panni Kutty means piglet in English. The film, also, marks the return of well-known Tamil orator-comedian Dindugal Leoni to the big screen. Anucharan, meanwhile, is basking in the success of his recently-released web series, Suzhal–The Vortex, streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The theatrical rights of Panni Kutty for the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka have been acquired by Prabhu Thilak's 11:11 productions. Shot by cinematographer Sathish Murugan, Panni Kutty has music by K and has been edited by filmmaker Anucharan himself.

July 8 will further see the releases of Iravin Nizhal and Andhagan. The makers of Iravin Nizhal claim theirs to be the world’s first non-linear single-shot film. Starring Parthiban in the lead role, it has Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Anandha Krishnan, Robo Shankar, Sai Priyanka Ruth and Brigida Saga in supporting roles.

The film, which was composed by AR Rahman, has a technical crew that includes Academy award-winning sound designer Craig Mann and VFX supervisor Cottalango Leon. Arthur Wilson is the cinematographer.

Parthiban himself is producing Iravin Nizhal under the banner of Bioscope Film Framers. Kalaipuli S Thanu's V Creations is presenting the film.

And, Prashanth's Andhagan, the official remake of Andhadhun, is directed by Thiagarajan. The Jeans actor is stepping into the shoes of a pianist essayed by Ayushmann Khurrana in the 2018 original.

Andhagan features Priya Anand and Simran in the roles, played by Radhika Apte and Tabu, respectively.

Interestingly, Andhadhun was also remade in Telugu as Maestro, featuring Nithiin, Tamannaah, and Nabha Natesh and in Malayalam as Bhramam, starring Prithviraj, Mamta Mohandas and Raashi Khanna.
