After Robert Downey Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch's portrayals of adult Sherlock became popular, Hero is here to portray the teenage years of Holmes and how he became the famous detective. In his younger days, Sherlock is a disgraced young man, raw and unfiltered, finding himself entangled in his first-ever murder case that unravels a bigger conspiracy.

What is Young Sherlock all about?

The story begins from Sherlock's 14-year-old life in 1868, when his father was posted to India, and he was sent to live with their relatives in Hampshire. He begins to solve crimes ranging from mysterious deaths in England to conspiracies in Russia and China at that young age.

As Andrew Lane's book focuses on how Sherlock acquired his skills, such as martial arts from a Chinese tutor and violin lessons from a musician, the series is also expected to showcase the same. According to reports, Young Sherlock is expected to reimagine Holmes and John Watson's first meeting as teenagers at a London boarding school, and how they join hands to solve murder mysteries together.
