Youth (2026) box office collection day 2: Ken Karunaas has tripled as actor, director and writer of the coming-of-age drama, with score by GV Prakash

Ken Karunaas, seen in films like Asuran and Vaathi, made his directorial debut with Youth, the recently released Tamil coming-of-age drama. The film is running in theatres, and has made a total collection of Rs 7.1 crore in two days.

Youth, the 2026 Tamil drama, has been maintaining its momentum at the box office for the first two days. The Ken Karunaas film which made Rs 3.6 crore on first day, made Rs 3.5 crore the following Friday, bringing its total collection to Rs 7.1 crore.
So far, the film has been earning a steady of over Rs 3 crore on its first two days, with the weekend expected to see a spike. However, with no star presence and a young cast and crew, made on a reported budget of Rs 8 crore, which the film’s gross collection, Rs 8.17, has recovered it, making Youth a commercially successful film.

Youth is a coming-of-age drama set in 2016 and follows the two years of a 15-year-old Praveen. His only intention in life is to find true love and settle in life with her. His life changes after three girls enter, leading to a drama that changes his perspectives, as he navigates through first love, friendship, peer pressure, and identity, while confronting choices that shape his future and personal growth. Youth opened to decent reviews upon its release.
The film marks the debut direction of Ken, who has also acted in the lead role. Apart from him, the film also features actors Suraj Venjaramoodu, Devadarshini, Anishma Anilkumar, Meenakshi Dinesh, Nalini, Chinna Thamizha and others in supporting roles. GV Prakash has scored the music. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of Youth and will stream it after big screen run.
