Youth first review out: Ken Karunaas’ coming-of-age drama called the ‘relief film Kollywood has been waiting for’

Actor Ken Karunaas will be making his directorial debut with the upcoming Tamil film titled Youth. The film is slated for a release in February in cinemas, with Ken also doubling up as lead actor. While not many promotional materials related to the film is out, a member of audience, who watched the film at a special screening, shared their review of the film.

Youth first review out: How is Ken Karunaas film?

In what may look like a wave of light-hearted films coming in Tamil cinema, like With Love, Pookie, and more, is another addition Youth. The film is billed to be a youthful entertainer and is directed by Ken Karunaas. Known for starring in films like Asuran, and Vaathi, Ken is son of actor Karunaas and singer Grace. The young actor will be making his directorial debut with Youth, a film that borrows its title from the 2002 Vijay-starrer Youth.

Youth is slated for release in February. Ahead of it, a special screening was arranged for a few members. One of them who watched the film, shared their review on social media. “Trust me this is the relief film Kollywood has been waiting for. A beautiful slice-of-life coming-of-age drama that hits straight in the heart. The film takes you back to your school days and lets you live the moments you always wished you had. It’s magical in so many ways . I still had a smile on my face for hours after walking out. Ken is gonna surprise you. The magic he’s pulled off will stay with us for year,” the social media user posted on X.

What do we know about Youth?

Ken who is starring and directing the film, has also written the screenplay. Malayalam actor Anishma Anilkumar ho was recently seen in critically acclaimed film Sirai, is also part of the cast. A release date for the film is yet to be announced. GV Prakash is scoring the music for Youth. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Meenakshi Dinesh, Priyanshi Yadav, and Devadarshini are also part of the film.
