Kannada actor-producer Krishna Ajai Rao’s second production venture, Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2, directed by Pavan Bhat is among the few films this year that managed to bring audiences to theatres and was declared an ‘emotional hit’. A courtroom drama, Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2 had Ajai in the lead, along with Prakash Belawadi, Archana Jois and Baby Radnya, among others, and is now on OTT.
Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2 has, not surprisingly, been picked up by Amazon Prime Video and has begun streaming as of June 20, 2025. The film is available in the Kannada original version, as well as with Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi audio. It remains to be seen if the digital rights are exclusive to Prime Video, or if the makers have the option to shop it elsewhere too, as has been the case with a few other Kannada films that dropped on a second platform within weeks.

Pavan’s film, meanwhile, was about the struggle of a young single mother to get justice for her young child, after she was brutally sexually assaulted. With the affluent perpetrator managing to get extensions on the hearings and remaining scot-free, the mother, played by KGF-fame Archana Jois, feeling let down by the system, guns him down within the court premises and is then charged with murder.
Prima facie, her case seems open and shut, with no debate about her action, but is she really a murderer, or a victim of circumstances? When experienced lawyers refuse to take up her case, a rookie lawyer, played by Ajai Rao, steps in to get her the justice she was denied earlier. How he goes about it forms the crux of the story.
