Comedian Kapil Sharma's comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show, went off-air from TV in 2023. This year, the comedian took an OTT route for his project. Titled The Great Indian Kapil Show, the show now streams on Netflix. Amid this, it has been reported that stand-up comic Zakir Khan will be returning to TV with a new comedy show. His project is likely to take up TKSS' slot on Sony TV. According to a Hindustan Times report, Zakir's show will be a mix of shayari and comedy.
The Kapil Sharma Show's void was temporarily filled by Madness Machayenge- India Ko Hassayenge. The show is likely to wrap up soon. Now, it's being reported that Zakir Khan's new show will take up the same slot on the channel.
Spilling beans about Zakir's venture, a source told HT, "Zakir's show will have a mix of shayari and comedy, which is typical Zakir style. The comedian has built his own audience that connects with his shayarana side and with this show, he aims to reach a wider audience. Currently, Madness Machayenge is running on air and is soon expected to wrap up. Zakir's show is expected to air from August on TV."
The report further suggests Zakir's show will also have Bollywood guests, which is a similar concept to that of Kapil's show. If Khan's show airs on the same channel, it will also be available for streaming on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium. That said, the lineup of guests is yet to be finalised for Zakir's show.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Zakir Khan was recently seen in Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare 3, which premiered on Amazon miniTV. Khan was seen alongside Abhimanyu Singh, Amruta Khanvilkar, Alka Amin, Kumar Varun, and Vyom Sharma in the series.
