Zakir Khan talks about his journey on The Kapil Sharma Show: I was removed from the stage within 2 minutes

Along with Kusha Kapila, Anubhav Singh Bassi, and Abhishek Upmanyu, popular stand-up comedian Zakir Khan will appear as a special guest on The Kapil Sharma Show this weekend for a New Year's episode. The episode will also include Jasbir Jassi and singer Richa Sharma.

Zakir Khan remarked, when asked about his career in comedy, that when he was a kid, hee used to get comedy CDs from Raju Shrivastava, Johnny Lever, and other comedians, and used to adore watching them. The Laughter Challenge then began during his time in school, and if someone tried to be humorous, his buddies would pull and encourage them to try the performance as a joke. He added, "I would religiously watch that show and imagine how it would feel to perform like the comedians on the show. Watching the show made me think of it as a cakewalk, but later, when I tried for real, I understood how hard it is."

He further spoke about the challenges of being a stand-up comedian. "When I went on the stage to perform for the first time, I was removed from the stage within 2 mins (laughs). He then added that in front of your friends and family, you might be funny because they understand the context of your joke and can relate to it, but it is a huge effort to narrate a story and make people laugh when it comes to a completely unknown audience, and only a great comic can do it."

Zakir also praised the host Kapil Sharma and stated that the fire that Kapil sparked has brightened us all. Comedy was never given great weight, but nowadays, every major feature film is promoted on this stage. "I want to thank Kapil Bhai for this," he remarked.

Meanwhile, Zakir Khan last appeared in the comedy series Farzi Mushaira, where he presided over a hilarious poetry reading alongside Richa Chadha and a big audience. Earlier this month, Zakir attended the Delhi Comic Con in the nation's capital.
