Zara Hatke Zara Bachke star Sara Ali Khan on playing small-town girl: I have grown up thinking of myself as an Indian desi girl

Sara Ali Khan has been seen playing the characters of a small-town girl in many of her projects. The diva is now gearing up to play a fun-packed role again opposite Vicky Kaushal in her upcoming film Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. During the trailer launch event, Sara unveiled what attracts her to play a bubbly small-town girl role.

The actress shared, "The truth is that I really relate to the pulse of my country very strongly. I have always grown up thinking of myself as an Indian desi girl from Juhu that lives with her mother and doesn't really have frills or fancies or is filmy and even doesn't have friends to be honest. So one is always grown up not just only knowing but also being very proud of my Indianness. But I think that's a very personal thing."

"I think the answer to what you are asking me is that it really is Gatuu Sir's vision or Aanand Ji's guidance or Lakshman Sir's instructions that makes me feel like a character that you can relate to. I think that's what it is really about for me," she added.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is the upcoming comedy-drama film starring Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan. The makers have just dropped a fun-packed trailer for the anticipated movie that sees both the actors as a fun small-town couple who are trying to navigate through their relationship before and after marriage.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is slated to release in theatres on June 23.
