Zebra was leading man Satyadev’s 26th film, that incidentally was Dhananjaya’s 26th too, which, besides the appeal of the character was why the Kannada actor decided to be a part of the film that was inspired by true events. The film, reportedly underperformed at the box office, but the initial OTT rights deal itself helped them recover investment, so this dubbing deal will be a bonus.
In the film, Satyadev played Surya, a bank employee who is in a relationship with Swathi (Priya Bhavani Shankar), who works at another bank. When Swathi ends up making a serious mistake and transferring a massive amount of money to a customer, Surya helps her stay out of trouble by committing a white-collar crime. This, however, does not get them in the clear, but puts them I the cross-hairs of goon, Aadi (Dhananjaya), whom they have to pay ₹5 crore.
Satyadev, who has not had a great run at the box office in recent times, was last seen in Zebra, while Dhananjaya had Pushpa 2: The Rule and a cameo in his production venture Vidyapati. The actor has a few films lined up, including Uttarakaanda, Anna From Mexico and Jingo.
