ZEE5 to introduce director's commentary section into the Indian streaming space with Republic on November 26

Heralding a new chapter in the Indian streaming world, OTT platform ZEE5 is all set to introduce a director's commentary section starting from its upcoming release, Republic, the Telugu film directed by Deva Katta, starring Sai Dharam Tej, Aishwarya Rajesh, Ramya Krishna and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. Republic is all to premiere on ZEE5 on November 26. When the film starts streaming, the audience is provided with an option to watch the movie along with the director's commentary and can alternatively also do away with it as per their choice.  

The platform even went onto share a glimpse of one such conversation among the film's director, screenplay writer (Kiran), creative producer (Satish BKR) and editor (KL Praveen) today. Deva Katta in this conversation sheds light on how he integrates various threads in the film into the life of its lead character Panja Abhiram, who later goes onto become a Collector near the Kolleru lake region. 

The conversation has the group discussing why they did away with the conventional hero introduction sequence in the film and how did an incident bring about a change in the outlook of the male lead. The discussion shifts to how the tracks of Aishwarya Rajesh, Rahul Ramakrishna and Ramya Krishna are integrated into the life of the lead character in the story.

A media statement by ZEE5 states, "The OTT streaming of the Telugu film 'Republic' will arrive with an incisive commentary by director Deva Katta. ZEE5 is the first OTT platform in the country to do such a thing, while 'Republic' is the first film to be coming out with such a commentary." Republic is jointly produced by JB Entertainments and Zee Studios. Some of the other OTT releases on ZEE5 include Amrutha Ramam, 47 Days, Meka Suri, Battala Ramaswamy Biopic, NET, Alanti Sitralu, Raja Raja Chora, Sridevi Soda Center, Heads And Tales.
