Zeenat Aman, soon to be seen in The Royals featuring Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, has opened up about working with Ishaan Khatter. The veteran actress stood out when the title was announced, and her role is one of the most anticipated in the series. Now, as the release of The Royals comes closer, she is one of the most-awaited faces. In her long Instagram post, she narrates her experience during the shoot and how Ishaan made it a smoother ride for her. Here's what she posted...

Zeenat Aman confesses 10-12 hours of shoot left her with swollen ankles and drooping eyes

Age sure has caught up with The Great Gambler actress Zeenat Aman, even if she delivers sass with her dialogues in The Royals and grace in real life. Describing her experience on sets, Zeenat Aman pens, "At the end of a 10 to12 hour workday that involves tedious time in the makeup chair, heavy costumes and jewellery, searing heat and frenzied activity, I am left with swollen ankles and drooping eyes. It’s all quite unglamorous, but then I watch myself on screen and see what a coup the team managed. My character Maji Sahiba is absolutely entitled, queenly, tart and intimidating, just as she was scripted!"

Ishaan Khatter made the ride smoother for the actress

Beyond The Clouds actor Ishaan Khatter made the ride smoother for Zeenat Aman, she confirmed. On collaborating with him for the first time, Zeenat Aman wrote, "From assisting me down the stairs to my vehicle, to bringing me fresh ginger ale to sip on between takes and conjuring up cushions for the uncomfortable plastic chair I had to sit on during readings, he exhibited the courtesies and grace I thought had become virtues of the past," adding that she wanted to praise him during the series wrap itself, but was asked to wait for closer to the release.

The Royals' release date and platform

The Royals is scheduled to release this Friday, May 9. The show, also featuring Bhumi Pednekar as the female lead and Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Vihaan Samat, Dino Morea, Zeenat Aman, Milind Soman and Chunky Pandey in pivotal roles, will be streaming on Netflix. The story is about Aviraaj Singh, played by Ishaan, who is tasked with saving his legacy as the Maharaj, and Saand Ki Aankh actor Bhumi Pednekar's ambitious CEO Sophia comes as the only saving grace.
