6 Journey Story

A series of mysterious murders rock Hyderabad as victims die by bleeding through their ears right after receiving a phone call. Meanwhile, government officials managing cell signals are being kidnapped. Amidst the chaos, six youngsters head to Goa. Along the way, they give a lift to a stranger, who soon becomes a murder suspect. While trying to escape from him, all seven get kidnapped by terrorists. What do the terrorists want? Why are people dying after receiving phone calls? How do the youngsters face this deadly threat? Watch the film to uncover the truth.

6 Journey Review

6 Journey is written and directed by Bashir Aluri and is based on the delicate issue of terrorism. When any terrorist activity occurs, all eyes turn to Pakistan, and the latest India-Pakistan conflict has kept everyone on edge. At such a time, the film explores terrorism originating from China and how the neighboring country attempts to harm India through technology, an angle showcased in 6 Journey.

Director Bashir presents this concept with a thrilling twist by taking six protagonists on a dangerous ride. The core story revolves around how they get kidnapped and attempt to escape. 6 Journey starts on an engaging note, with the depiction of murders linked to cell phone towers capturing immediate attention and keeping viewers hooked.

However, once the narrative shifts to introducing the six key characters, the pace slows down. The extended focus on the characters' backgrounds, love stories, and friendships becomes tedious and dilutes the seriousness of the plot. Much of this could have been trimmed to maintain the tension.

Things pick up again when a mysterious stranger asks for a lift, reintroducing suspense. Bashir touches on the topic of cyberterrorism—a fresh and compelling idea that hasn’t been explored much in Telugu cinema. Unfortunately, the execution feels half-baked. While there was ample scope to make the story gripping, the film falls short due to repetitive scenes and sluggish plot development. With limited time, the director rushes the climax, leaving several elements underdeveloped.

You can also catch gritty India-Pakistan war films on OTTplay Premium, including Sam Bahadur, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Haqeeqat, Tejas, and more, each delivering a compelling portrayal of bravery and sacrifice.

The kidnapping scenes and the youngsters’ escape are handled decently but lack the necessary thrill. Additionally, the relatively inexperienced cast slightly hampers the impact.

Coming to the performances, Ravi Prakash Reddy makes his debut as the lead. He appears a bit raw in the first half but settles into his role in the second. Bigg Boss Telugu 8 fame Tasty Teja gets a solid role and manages to deliver a few laughs. The rest of the cast performs adequately.

On the technical front, 6 Journey has commendable production values. The cinematography—especially the road and forest visuals—is well executed. However, the VFX could have been better. Editing is a weak point, with too much screen time given to character introductions. The production design and fight choreography are decent.

6 Journey presents an honest take on terrorism with an intriguing premise. However, the director strays from the core theme and fails to build sustained tension, making the film less impactful than it could have been.

6 Journey Verdict

On the whole, 6 Journey is an honest attempt and has an interesting backdrop. While the regular commercial elements sidetrack the film time and again, a few thrills and patriotic scenes are the saving grace.
