Story:

Aashiqana Season 2 is the continuation of its first season, which showcased the love story of a police officer and a civilian girl amid the ongoing killing spree by a serial killer. Meanwhile, the latest instalment follows the same love story with a new case that sees the couple fighting a new antagonist, who wants to kill Chikki. The latest season also focuses on a man-made virus attack in the city. Will the duo be able to curb the dangerous situation?

Review:

The series begins with police officer Yashwardhan Chauhan (played by Zayn Ibad Khan) recovering from his injury in the hospital, while Chikki (Khushi Dubey) comes to the hospital on a regular basis to check on her husband. However, she doesn't meet him personally due to a tiff that has been going between them since the last season.

After a few sequences, an unknown being comes and kidnaps Chikki. A woman disguised as a nurse goes to Yashwardhan's room and hands him a phone. Karanvir Bohra, as the new antagonist, enters the story and informs the police officer about his wife. Meanwhile, the nurse standing in the hospital kills herself with a knife after quoting, "Karma." This reminds him of something that happened earlier as well.

With the help of the tracker, the police officer reaches the spot and, after a few fighting and action sequences, finally rescues his wife.

The first episode ends on a major cliffhanger that shows that the villain is still alive even after getting hit by three bullets.

The last season received quite mixed reviews regarding the plot of the show. However, the plot of the current instalment seems much better and more interesting as well.

The one thing that bothered me the most is that the performances by the two main leads are not one of those things that will attract you to watch the show. However, they surely seem to be getting better than in the last season. Meanwhile, after recovering from a major incident, the love angle between Yashwardhan and Chikki is highly anticipated in the story now.

On the other hand, Karanvir has nailed his antagonist's character as being a badass heartless person, who can't die even after getting hit by three bullets (daily soap logic). More action and quirky sequences are surely expected from the Shararat-fame actor in the upcoming episodes.

Verdict:

The plot and performances seem a little better than last season. However, the cliched dialogues and not-so-great screenplay reduce the marks.
