Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi Story

Krishna (Pradeep Machiraju) is an engineer who is sent to a small village to build toilets as part of his job. There, he falls in love with Raja (Deepika Pilli). The twist in the tale arises when the village head puts forth a condition stating that in order to marry Raja, Krishna has to settle sixty men in the village and get them married. What is this weird condition? What is the backstory behind all this? To know the answers, watch the film on the big screen.

Nitin and Bharat, the creators behind the iconic Telugu comedy show Jabardasth, direct Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi. The film is a crazy comedy on the lines of Samajavaragamana and Keedaa Cola. So, when they announced the film, there was much curiosity about how they would direct a full-fledged comedy.

Well, they are out with their debut film, which has decent comedy but loses out on emotions and struggles a bit in the second half. The hero going to the village, falling for the girl, struggling to meet her despite all sorts of restrictions — all this is showcased in a hilarious manner.

The presence of comedians Satya and Getup Sreenu is a blessing, as they evoke solid comedy. All their scenes with Pradeep are executed well and bring the house down.

The key twist is revealed in the interval bang, and the condition to get 60 villagers married in order to win the girl’s hand is very interesting. Once this is done, the audience waits to see what’s in store in the second half and how the hero will get 60 men married.

However, the director duo chooses comedy, which clicks in bits and pieces. The scenes that showcase the alliance of the sixty men look good, but in all this, the core conflict goes for a toss.

One of the biggest drawbacks of the film is the climax, which is hurried up a lot. Too many things are there to handle for the director duo, and they have made a mess of it. Had they handled the climax and brought in related scenes to the conflict early in the second half, things would have made a lot of difference. But still, the comedy has its moments.

One of the hilarious scenes of the film is when Satya and Getup Sreenu try to hide where the heroine is. As Nitin and Bharat are good with comedy, they made sure that the film has impressive fun, though it feels loud. Had they managed to add some serious emotions, the output would have been a lot better.

Coming to the performances, Pradeep Machiraju is decent with his performance and plays the main lead’s role to the best of his capacity. But it is Deepika Pilli who gets a meaty role, and she is quite impressive. Be it her look, screen presence, or dances, she has done quite well. Her chemistry with Pradeep Machiraju is quite good in the film, and she is surely the one to watch out for.

Once again, star comedian Satya of Ramam Raghavam fame delivers a solid performance. His character evokes loud laughs, and he is a riot in the first half. Getup Sreenu, who scored a big hit with HanuMan, also gets a meaty role, and he is also very good in the film.

Rohini, Muralidhar Goud, and Vennela Kishore do their jobs well. Brahmaji was neat in his cameo and evoked a few laughs. Radhan has composed the music, and his songs are very good and gel well with the narrative. His background score is also neat.

The choreography is very good, and so are the lyrics. The dialogues are hilarious, and the camera work is top-notch. The village visuals and the entire setup of the film were amazing in the first half. The editing is decent, but the screenplay is a bit dull.

Nitin and Bharat, the director duo, have made a decent debut and stayed true to their strength, which is comedy. But the rest of the proceedings are a bit convenient. There is no logic behind the story, but Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi entertains with decent comedy.

Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi Verdict

On the whole, Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi is high on comedy and a bit low on emotion. The narrative is convenient, and the climax is rushed. But if you want to have a gala time, ignoring all these factors, give the film a shot this weekend.
