Anaganaga Story

Vysas (Sumanth) is a school teacher who is against the conventional style of teaching. He uses alternative methods of teaching, which land him in major trouble as his son and a few kids fail in the exam. Vyas's wife, Bhagi(Kajal Choudary), who is also the principal, is forced by the management to take strict action against her husband. The rest of the story is how Vyas creates a new path for his student despite facing major issues in his marriage.

Anaganaga Review:

Post the success of #90s and KA, ETV Win is back with yet another coming-of-age drama, Anaganaga. Written and directed by Sunny Sanjay, Anaganaga deals with the current education system in international schools and how it is all about getting ranks and only focuses on mugging up rather than understanding the concept. This is a burning topic, especially in the Telugu states, and director Sunny has given this aspect an emotional turnaround by weaving a husband-wife and father-son story beautifully.

The emotional turmoil in the film is the selling point, as the tensions that the core cast goes through are showcased beautifully by the director, Sanjay. As the story has multiple aspects to elevate emotions, the director does not fall short and makes full use of the proceedings. Anaganaga majorly works because of solid emotions and relatable moments that strike a chord. The ego issues that the husband and wife face and how the son is stuck between them are showcased movingly.

Anaganaga is more about schools understanding the importance of education and giving their students a brighter future. Amidst all this, the family drama is highlighted, and this makes things quite interesting. Coming to the performances, Sumanth of Malli Raava and Snehamante Idera fame is the face of Anaganaga, and it is his performance that holds your attention till the end. He is a vulnerable character who does not shy away from showcasing his emotions, and Sumanth does that beautifully in the setup. One can say that Anaganaga is one of his best performances to date. He has immersed himself in the character of Vyas, and this is the best part of the film.

Kajal Choudhary is yet another highlight of the film. Though she is new to films, the way she has performed is quite impressive. She is stuck between the principles of her husband and the innocence of her son. The way she showcases emotions throughout the film without bringing out the negative side speaks volumes about her talent. The young kid who played Sumanth's son is also neat and has done well in his character. Srinivasa Avasarala is also good in his role and brings a lot of depth to the film. The rest of the cast is just about okay.

The production values are top-notch, and the way the school is set up and the innovative learning concept is showcased is very good. Chandu Ravi's music is soothing to the ears, but it is his background score that is quite impressive. The pace is a bit slow, as things take time to come to the core point. But the performances make up for the negatives and end the film on a very endearing note.

Anaganaga also gives a solid message about how parents are forcing their kids into studies and are stopping them from being creative. This aspect has been executed in a very good way. But it is the wavering emotions of each character that bind the film together. Anaganaga works mainly because of the relatability factor and is targeted at the family audience. As the pace and mood of the film are perfect for an OTT audience, Anaganaga ends as an inspiring watch.

Anaganaga Verdict

On the whole, Anaganaga is a social drama that takes a dig at the current education system. Though the plot feels dated, the emotional performances, father-son bonding, strong message, and well-crafted backdrop make it a worthwhile watch, especially for families.
