Story:
Now that Andor has completed his mission, he has to figure where does he go from here. Will he dig his grave deeper or finally be free?
Review:
Ever wondered what would happen if all characters in Andor display their dark side? The latest episode of the series takes you there and makes you rethink all the characters and their graph. It is mind-numbing but at the same time, very novel. Director Benjamin Caron has simply touched the brim with the episode and if the story continues in the same way, expect to see a DC level mystery unfold.
Kyle Soller's Syril Karn, who proved his worth since the first three episodes, has been in the shadows for a long time now. Episode 7, however, promises to change that and it does but only in some ways.
Genevieve O'Reilly as Senator Mon is impressive, almost as impressive as Stellan Skasgard's Luthen Rael. Their interaction is truly a gem.
Faye Marsay is back and she has a newer role this time. She comes in a brief appearance and it gets tough to even recognize her, now that the mission is done.
Diego Luna comes much late into his own series but it is quite a heroic entry for his Cassian Andor. It was even expected in a way of him since his first mission is finally over.
The hide-and-seek is back. Andor and the stormtroopers come face-to-face and still, dodge each other.
From trying to make a change to trying to fit in among many employees, Syril is definitely one character that leaves you intrigued. Kyle brings this character to life but more than anything it is the way he is portrayed.
Verdict:
Benjamin has a rather subdued way of taking the story forward. He has shown not only Andor but every character in a new light, one in which they do not belong. This makes the episode way too interesting and leaves you wondering what will come up next and how will the makers deal with that.
