Criminal Justice Season 4: A Family Matter Review:

Criminal Justice series falls into those categories where the plot makes you wonder about 'who dun it.' Once you are a fan of Criminal Justice, there is no going back. After three successful and gripping seasons, JioHotstar's Criminal Justice is back with season 4, which follows the story of a family and an intense murder case. Let us get that straight, as it is a criminal show and a search for truth, not much will be disclosed, as it will spoil the thrill and plot. You need to watch to witness the case unfolding with the help of Pankaj Tripathi's Madhav Mishra.

After the last season's case, Madhav Ji glows up in the new season as he opens his own company, Madhav Mishra and Association. He gets a new case involving a serious family matter. The eight-episode series once again makes you fall in love with everything about it from the beginning to the end.

A surgeon, Dr. Raj Nagpal (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub), has a wife, Anju (Surveen Chawla), a daughter, Ira Nagpal, and his mother. He is having a difficult time in his married life with Anju and has an affair with a nurse, Roshini (Asha Negi). Ira is suffering from Aspergers and Roshni takes care of her. Everything seems to be going fine until Roshni is murdered one early morning and Raj gets arrested as he is accused of the prime suspect.

The plot becomes intense when, a few days later, Anju also gets arrested. After a bit of a stretch, the truth comes out, and it will make you shiver. Pankaj Tripathi unites with a new colleague, while Mita Vashisht reprises the role of Mandira Mathur, and Shweta Basu Prasad returns as Lekha Agastya.

Criminal Justice season 4, directed by Rohan Sippy, finely juxtaposes two worlds where advocates interpret the case with their own theories, and police, on the other hand, continue to investigate to find better clues. But everything gets justice in one place, and that is the court. The new season tries to portray the real world as real as possible, and it also shows how advocates and police departments deal with the media.

Criminal Justice can be a serious series, but at times, it also focuses on a lighter part where Madhav Ji and his team can be seen sharing laughter while dealing with their daily lives. Madhav Mishra's wife, Ratna, who helps her husband in solving the case, always amuses with her simply effective acting. In between solving cases, Madhav and Ratna's family drama is also enjoyable to watch, and their banter often makes us laugh.

Speaking about Pankaj Tripathi's acting will never be enough. He is an acting genius. We can safely claim that nobody can play Madhav Mishra better than Pankaj. The role was destined to be played by him, who always mesmerizes with his natural and down-to-earth performance. Like in previous seasons, Tripathi's expressions, body language, and dialogue delivery are perfect in the new season.

Apart from him, Mita Vashisht and Shweta Vasu Prasad once again leave permanent marks with their extraordinary performances. Their dedication, expressions, and dialogue delivery are also commendable. Talking about Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Surveen Chawla, Asha Negi, and the daughter's performances, they have done a fabulous job, as it seemed too real.

The cast also features Barkha Singh, Aatm Prakash Mishra, Kalyanee Mulay, Ajeet Singh Palawat, Pankaj Saraswat, and others.

Coming to the writing and directing part, these leave an impact as they are successful in keeping the climax safe until the end. Every time we are taken to the courtroom scene, our hearts keep beating fast, as it is obvious that a new truth will unfold, and some truths almost change the whole scenario in the series. Watch the show and you will know the moments we are talking about. However, some scenes indeed feel like they dragged the plot a bit too much, but for the sake of the climax, this fault can be ignored. The last scene has to be one of the most heartfelt moments which shows that Madhav Ji is not only a sensible advocate but also a human with a pure heart.
