Dhan Dhatudi Patudi review: This Hemang Dave, Chetan Daiya starring film is merely average

Story:

Dhanji (Sanjaysinh Chauhan) accidentally wins a lottery. This happens when everybody started ignoring him. KK (Chetan Daiya) is almost like a don who cannot accept the situation and so he stirs up trouble. Not just him, Dhanji's own brothers, including Munno (Hemang Dave), think they deserve the money and thus, find out ways to get their hands on the lottery too. Who will eventually win the lottery?

Review:

Chetan Daiya is instantly introduced as KK with all other characters. He is a colourful character as always which is evident with his bright dressing sense. Soon, Hemang Dave is introduced as Munno. He has a special and elongated scene for the introduction.

While Hemang is only fair, Chetan is impeccable in every scene, like every project he has been a part of. However, he faulters in a few scenes even in this film because of the level of drama director Sunny Kumar demanded in the scene.

Sanjaysinh Chauhan plays the lead role of Dhanji Darji. He is a good comic actor who works magic with his expressions. While the comic timing is good, the romance in the film is completely unbelievable.

Set in the common backdrop of accidentally winning a lottery and the chaos that follows, the film has a strong base. This time, we also see the true colours of all characters thanks to the scenario.

The three days wait becomes a nightmare for Dhanji, who is not even aware about people's intentions. The build-up to when he comes to know about it is too long and how he forgives and forgets is too unrealistic.

A few scenes edited in the film are also not in the same flow. It is disturbing in the movie which already struggles to keep your attention. The movie, however, focuses on the costumes well. Every character is a different colour, which comes out in the climax scene.

The film is the first in the franchise. It promises a sequel but honestly, will it even be worth it?

Verdict:

While the actors in Dhan Dhatudi Pataudi give an above average performance, the film has an average execution. It is not a great watch but it is also not a film you absolutely cannot sit through. Give it a watch once.
