Story:

Various murders take place in Manali. Ranbir, played by Nakul Sahdev, is accused of killing his wife Jahnvi. His contradicting his love and hate for her does not help the case. However, as the case digs deeper, many mysteries unfold.

Review:

Based in Shimla and Manali, Girgit gets the locations right. It explores the dark side of the places right at the beginning. It also sees Mumbai's irresponsible side and makes up for a rather confusing plot. However, the characters come together in a way you cannot imagine when you first see them. Right up till the end, you get the whole picture, which quenches your thirst to know more about the twisted story. The storyline, however, picks up too slowly. There are too many abrupt moments for the first half of the series, especially with Ranbir (Nakul Sahdev) shown as a playboy.

He makes a pretty psychotic first impression, which is the requirement of the show. The character of Ranbir only keeps growing on you. While you feel like giving him another opportunity, Ranbir leaves you disgusted, thanks to how Nakul portrayed the character. The first episode itself sees him in a unique shade, which keeps growing. His dialogue, "I always wished you were dead. Now that you're dead, I don't know what to wish for," makes you think hard.

Trupti Kamkar looks super adorable. She is hilarious in many scenes. Her scene with 'Candy' is especially intriguing. On the other hand, her relationship with 'Jaanu' is too toxic to ignore. The efforts that Girgit took in building this relationship, is what disturbs the storyline. Jahnvi is too toxic as a person and it cannot be ignored, not even by the supposedly naive Maahi.

The show has a reference to Candy, which was Nakul's previous show based on a similar concept. It also has a hint of racism, where 'Ranbir' Nakul ends up saying, "You're not that white that you can't distinguish between brown people."

The foreigners in the show have an accent while talking in Hindi, which is very disturbing to watch. Their connection was unnecessary, forced and unnatural. Had they not been a part of the show, Girgit might have been crisp and left a larger impact.

There is a big twist in the show, which proves why Shamoli is who she is. This twist, like mentioned previously, comes about in the second half of the show. The episode then becomes so ridiculous that it will make you laugh.

Girgit becomes intriguing as it comes to an end. The masked killer's identity is finally revealed and it is the most interesting part of the show. The twist in the show is quite interesting. Due to that, the end of the series shows promise but of course, it is too late for that.

Verdict:

Both Nakul Sahdev and Trupti Kamkar are good enough for you to watch Girgit. However, the pace fails the show. Owing to that, Girgit becomes interesting only towards the end. A special shoutout to the makers for trying to bring forth various psychological human traits to the forefront but it could and should have been managed in a crisp manner to leave more impact. Nonetheless, the series can be one of your weekend watches.
