Greater Kalesh Story: Greater Kailash is a family-dramedy on Netflix that follows Twinkle Handa, who comes home to surprise her family for Diwali. The story unfolds as she discovers startling secrets, faces family conflicts, and fights to save her ancestral home during a chaotic and eventful Diwali. The film stars Ahsaas Channa as Twinkle and explores the humorous and emotional chaos of Indian family life.
Greater Kalesh is a short film on Netflix that is set during the light festival of Diwali. The film, having a span of 52 minutes, can instantly lift your mood and make you ponder over life choices in a good way. It begins with Ahsaas Channa as Twinkle Handa coming home to surprise her family on Diwali. She sees children playing on the road with crackers, which reminds her of childhood. Her thoughtful dialogues at the beginning are actually goosebumping and remind me of Deepika Padukone's Naina from Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani.
The film directly sheds light on how a daughter or a son lives far away from their parents for a job, and they start to think that things will never be the same again. But Greater Kalesh makes you realise that it is actually the opposite. Home remains the same, but it is actually the mentality that works in the background.
So Twinkle comes home to surprise her family, but faces a 'kalesh' (argument) in her family. If you are a social media follower, you must have seen that meme where it is written "Going home to get a peace of mind", but ends up facing arguments in the home like a true Indian family, and that is what Greater Kalesh is all about. After reaching home, she learns that their home is actually someone else's, and now they need to evacuate it because the real owner has sent an order. Not only this, but also Twinkle's mother is worried because she thinks her son is dating a woman of her age.
Like a normal Indian family, the Handa family also continues to argue until Twinkle learns that her brother loves a man named Karan and doubts that her father has an affair with a woman. She promises herself that she will protect her family just like her mother. When her mother finds out about her son's relationship, the disagreements increase.

This film looks at the conflicts and emotional turmoil that can test a family's relationships. It highlights the idea that real family life is defined by laughter, arguments, and the deep love that binds one together. Ultimately, the story shows how even the biggest chaos can bring a family closer together.
Not a single scene of the film feels boring. It is also important to mention that the runtime perfectly justifies the plot of Greater Kalesh. It's not too short, not too long, but perfect to end at the right time. Set in the backdrop of Diwali, the film rightfully justifies the festival's theme. It is how the lights of Diwali bring happiness after all the chaos, Handa family gets their happiness back after an emotional turmoil.
From Ahsaas Channa to Supriya Shukla, everyone's acting is spot on. The film also features Happy Ranajit, Poojan Chhabra, Akshaya Naik, Aditya Pandey, Keshav Mehta, and Sangeeta Balachandran.
Greater Kalesh is a heartwarming, chaotic portrayal of what makes an Indian family so real and relatable. The film contains love wrapped in arguments, unspoken emotions, and the never-ending and never-changing comfort of home. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Diwali, this 52-minute film masterfully balances humour and emotional depth.
