Harry & Meghan Part 2 review: Dark and thrilling details about royal drama that led the couple board the 'freedom flight'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle discuss their difficulties and the reasons behind their departure from the Royal Family, including everything from rifts to racism to leaked articles to lawsuits.

In the last episode of the docuseries, Meghan Markle reads out the speech that she gave during her royal wedding with Prince Harry. She is heard saying, "I wanted to share a story. A story that I wrote about the man that I love and the way that we met. Let's call this a modern fairy tale." The narration of the modern fairy tale has concluded, and it is indeed happily ever after. But the drama that has unfolded thus far is unprecedented in modern history. Well, it's the Royal Family; they have drama running through their veins just like the monarchial approach.

In the speech, Meghan also says, "This is the love story of a boy and a girl who were meant to be together." After all this time, it was all about the world the two of them created, be it in London, Canada, or even the US, where they were "hiding" for several months during their COVID-19 pandemic.

The documentary starts with the most-awaited and watched royal wedding across the globe: Harry and Meghan's. From King Charles walking down Meghan's aisle to having a gospel choir perform at the wedding, there were several firsts that broke stereotypes. This led to global news in no time and was all roses with no thorns in it. However, it's too good to be true, as their every move was scrutinised in order to read between the lines of the couple's unsaid and unmeant things.

This leads to the popular saying, "Your worst enemies will be in your own family," which turned out to be extremely true in the case of Harry and Meghan. In no time, their every step was questioned for having some intention to look better than the rest of the royal family members. be it their visit to Australia and New Zealand while being pregnant with Archie or even meeting the survivors of the fire at Grenfell Tower. Her launching the book, Together: Our Community Cookbook, with a garden party at Kensington Place led to tabloids publishing articles later about those women being a part of ISIS.

It's the thrilling undertone of "the beginning of the end" that makes the Harry & Meghan documentary far more intriguing than you might anticipate. The world has been merely a spectator to all of the drama that has been unfolding within Buckingham Palace. The overpowering of each emotion with poignant background music gives it the emotional depth that the story needs to have.

When the first instalment was released, several people were discussing what was new about this documentary, as we had already heard it all during Harry and Meghan's interview with Oprah Winfrey. However, patience is the key to virtue, as we can see what prompted them to record this explosive interview that had the entire world talking about it.

In the second part, the other bombshells are finally revealed. Harry says that Prince William yelled at him like he had never thought of it, and Prince Charles is said to have said things that were not true.

It's these moments that lead you to make your back straight and listen to them talk about being "fed to wolves," who were within the family. The hateful tabloids were all over the couple, and they didn't think twice about stepping into their privacy when they leaked Meghan's letter to her father, Thomas Markle. Not only that, but they were also questioned by the royal family, and many people saw how they slowly grew apart.

Harry and Meghan made a point to document everything; maybe they foresaw what was in store for them. We even see them leaving their home in London as they packed stuff and got emotional while doing so.

Leaving London was not good enough, as the tabloids followed them everywhere, and amid that, it was declared that the royal security will be signing off on their duties for the couple as of March 31, 2020. With Tyler Perry entering the picture, the episode ends on a cliffhanger, giving a ray of hope.

That whole sequence is a breath of fresh air, knowing that humanity still exists, and the way it has been filmed makes it more palpable to watch as well.

With the whole narrative, it's the songs in the background that strike the right chords and make it a poetic yet entertaining watch. However, to know how all hell breaks loose, the last two episodes about their "freedom flight" and starting a new life show that love wins after all.

It's their story, and like Meghan said, "And when the tides were rough, they squeezed each other tighter. 'Nothing can break us,' they'd say. For this love, she was a fighter."

Harry & Meghan: Part 2 gets more personal with a lot of involvement from the royal family and their fixated opinions on whether the couple should be entirely in and live life in fear, or be totally out with only royal blood running in the veins and not in the name. At the end of the day, it's important to ask, "Are you okay?"
