Honeymoon Se Hatya Story: Honeymoon Se Hatya is a Hindi true-crime docu-series on Z5 (OTTplay Premium) that explores shocking real-life cases where wives murdered their husbands. The series narrates the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, the Meerut blue drum case, the Bhiwani influencer case, the Mumbai tile case, and the Delhi electric shock case.

Honeymoon Se Hatya Review

The popularity of true crime stems from its ability to satisfy people's deep-seated needs for curiosity, problem-solving, justice, and safety, especially for women who use it for "defensive vigilance" and preparedness. At the same time, its mystery, emotional intimacy, and exploration of the darker side of human nature provide a safe, engaging form of escapism and a sense of control. One such crime series is Z5's Honeymoon Se Hatya. The crime docu-series depicts five true stories of wives killing their husbands with the help of their lovers.

Covering high-profile cases such as Meghalaya’s Sonam Raja Raghuvanshi, the Meerut Blue Drum, Bhiwani Influencer, Mumbai Tile, and Delhi Electric Shock cases, this series traces relationships that transform from commitment to violence. Focusing on a broken marriage, it explores deep themes of power, trust, and emotional breakdown. The show's power lies in its ability to unsettle viewers, especially when it repeatedly confronts the disturbing question of what drives these women to kill their husbands.

The Meghalaya Honeymoon Case (Sonam Raghuvanshi Case) serves as a central case, detailing how a newly married woman, Sonam, allegedly murdered her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya with the help of hired accomplices.

The Meerut Blue Drum Case covers the gruesome murder of Saurabh Rajput by his wife Muskan Rastogi and her boyfriend Sahil Shukla, who dismembered the body and concealed it in a cement-filled blue drum.

The Bhiwani Influencer Case explores a crime linked to a social media influencer.

The Mumbai (Nalasopara) Tile Case details a "Drishyam-style" murder where a victim was killed and buried under the floor tiles of his home.

The Delhi Electric Shock Case involves a plot where a husband was intentionally electrocuted after being given sleeping pills.

Directors Shachindraa Vats and Ajitesh Sharma masterfully used the facts and remained true to the original stories. The cast of the family and police interviews makes the narrative emotionally powerful. Yet, despite the emphasis on female psychology, this aspect remains underdeveloped, making parts of the series feel like simple retellings of widely publicised crimes.

Honeymoon Se Hatya Verdict

Through raw storytelling and adherence to documented facts, Honeymoon Se Hatya provides a disturbing look at a marriage that turns deadly. The emotional burden of the family members' and police's narratives strengthens the series, even though its promised psychological analysis fails. Despite its flaws, the series is still fascinating and unsettling, especially for viewers drawn to dark, real-world crime stories.
