Story: It starts right from where it ends in season one: strange events keep occurring even after Indu’s marriage. We start just a couple of days after Indu’s boubhat (reception) at the Dasgupta family. Amid a house full of adversaries, Indu continues to seek the truth, and eventually, the dirty little secrets of that bonedi bari pour in. Or do they really?

Review: If the mystery is not unravelled in time, a point may come when it matters little to the viewer whether the secret would be uncovered or not. This is, what you may say, the ill effect of stretching things too far. That’s Indu 2 in a nutshell. It builds suspense, presents a stellar star cast, endlessly beats around the bushes, and finally doesn’t reach its resolution. That can be frustrating for the viewers, so much so that you may feel cheated. It appears that not coughing the plot out even in the second season is a means to cover up the lack of real content to extend the series further.

Having said that, Indu 2 does not deprive you of an intriguing watch. It is dotted with suspense and thrill. The story does not progress much but many facets of human nature, the characters’ greed, failure, and jealousy come out in each of the eight episodes.

Acting is the forte of the series. Ishaa Saha as Indu is completely different from any other character she portrays. She is the most bankable face of the show and she does justice to the character brilliantly. Suhotra Mukhopadhyay continues to dazzle with his bold presence as Sujato. Ishaa and Suhotra have effortless chemistry between them. One can only watch the show to see these two young actors performing. Among the other actors, Payel De, and Mimi Dutta are intriguing. Manashi Sinha delivers a high-octane drama that fits perfectly well with her character which is filled with malice. Judhajit Sarkar is also convincing as plotting Mihir.

Verdict: When the first season of Indu was dropped in 2021, it became one of the most popular shows because of its tight storytelling. In season two, however, the story becomes its weakest point. Since the makers and writers hold back most of the explanations, the season becomes bland despite the garnishing of acting, et al.
