Love & Gelato is not your cliched romantic film, even if it looks like that.

Story:
Lina (Sussana Skaggs) tries to rediscover life after her mother's death. Every person in her life helps her through the journey - either by picking her up or dragging her down.
Review:
Staying true to the title of the film Love & Gelato, the makers of the movie introduce Italy, which breathes love. The beauty of this place literally reels you in.
Susanna Skaggs as Lina is the smart geek. She pulls off the character well, in a way.
Tobia De Angelis as Lorenzo is quite the sweetheart. He is the surprise package in the movie.
Owen McDonnell as Howard Railey leaves little to imagination. He is a pretty open book and there's little to explore with his character.
Valentina Lodovini is impressive from the first frame. She comes like a storm and stays that way.
Saul Nanni as Alessandro Albani is charming from the minute he enters the frame. While his is a very real kind of character, it is still not the best out there.
Anjelika Washington as Addie is a reflection of gen z, who are all about make-believe. She nails her role as someone like that.
Addie and Lina's characters are developed almost instantly. Their bond is nothing less than BFF vibes.
The one aspect where the makers went the cliched way was picking the leads. They picked up the 'blue eyed' Saul and Sussana and very obviously, tried to focus on that. This is one toxic trait in times when change is inevitable and beauty is even in the distorted face. If that is what you think, then give this film a chance. It will change your mind.
The movie gets beautiful soon enough. It is fun and intense at the same time and manages to tap into both the emotions fully. There are some heartwarming moments in the film too and all of it are, as we described, beautiful.
If there are two things about Italy that people love, it is the place and the food. This film explores both in detail and that simply adds to the already hearty story.
This story takes a turn that can actually get you teary-eyed. This film has a fairy-tale end to the love story. It is one you almost do not expect and that is what takes this film a notch above.
Verdict:
Love & Gelato are both pretty beautiful in appearance and taste. They make life a little better, just like this film. Definitely give this sweet and beautiful movie a watch.
