Oh Bhama Ayyo Rama Review: Suhas's film is a tedious tale with no direction

Oh Bhama Ayyo Rama Review: Suhas's film is a very old school family drama that has nothing going its way. Even a seasoned actor like Suhas is made to look out of place in this film.

Oh Bhama Ayyo Rama Story

Ram (Suhas) loses his mother at a very young age and lives with his uncle. One fine day, he meets Satyabhama (Malavika Manoj) and gets close to her. When everything seems to be going as planned, Ram's past resurfaces and breaks up his love story. What is that past, and what issues did it create in Ram’s love story, is the basic crux of the film.

Oh Bhama Ayyo Rama Review

Suhas is one of the most talented actors around in Telugu cinema and is doing back-to-back films in his career. He was last seen in the OTT release Uppu Kappurambu, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Just a few days after its release, yet another film of Suhas, Oh Bhama Ayyo Rama, has hit the screens on July 11, 2025, and has been directed by Ramu Godhala.

Firstly, one fails to understand what made Suhas okay the film in the first place. It is very hard to put this film into one genre, as Oh Bhama Ayyo Rama is a mixture of sorts and does not fit into any category, sadly. The writing is so weak that there is hardly any conflict in the film.

The flashback episodes of the hero have no link to the narrative. Whatever link is showcased is revealed only in the pre-climax, and to get there, you need to go through a plethora of badly executed scenes.

Even a talented actor like Suhas does not seem to have a clue about what he is doing in the narrative. The scenes are so predictable that you know exactly what is going to happen next. Such is the silly narrative that goes on and on till the end.

Director Ramu does not establish a single thread properly. Be it romance, comedy, or emotions, things do not click one bit. In today’s day and age, where content is being narrated in such a novel manner, here is one film that has the most predictable scenes and mundane narration. There was so much scope for the director to elevate the proceedings, but he did not make use of it one bit, as the film falls flat in no time.

Coming to the performances, Suhas is okay in his role but sleepwalks through most of it. His disinterest in the film is visible throughout. Malavika Manoj plays the female lead, and she has the best character in the film and does her best. But sadly, the weightage of the character is too much for her to showcase emotions properly.

Senior actor Ali plays a very interesting role and is good as Suhas’s uncle. There are two comedians in the film, and they irritate you to another level and are not worth mentioning here. Babloo Prithviraj plays a cameo and is good. Anita Hansnadani, the yesteryear actress from Telugu films, gets a very good role and is the only actor who makes sense in this narrative.

The production values are okay, but the screenplay is hugely disappointing and does not make sense one bit. The editing is pathetic, as close to fifteen minutes could be easily cut. The dialogues are neat, but the production design is not that great.

In times when content is ruling, here comes one film that you need to watch to learn how not to make a film, as the story, narration, and performances fail big time. On top of this, the emotions hardly connect and irritate the audience.

Oh Bhama Ayyo Rama Verdict

On the whole, Oh Bhama Ayyo Rama is a romantic drama that fails to click right from the start. Apart from the last ten minutes, every aspect of this film falters and makes it a tedious watch this weekend. Stay away from this one.
