As Paasha and Satthi land up in a serious problem, Issac gives them his father's hard owned fifty thousand rupees to solve their issues. This is also the time when Issac's girlfriend, Sirisha (Pavani Karanam) gets pregnant. Issac has no option but to get her aborted and needs money to do it secretly. How will Issac handle his angry father and manage his girlfriend's pregnancy? That forms the story.

Off late, most of the Telugu films are set in the heartlands of Telangana and Pareshan also falls in the same category. The film is about a group of friends and how petty issues in their lives end up becoming huge problems for others. The plot is quite simple as the protagonist needs just fifty thousand rupees to get out of his problems.

But what follows is a plethora of silly drinking scenes which bore you to death. The film has so many drinking scenes that one gets a feeling that the friends spend more money on liquor than the amount they need. Such is the silliness in the film. There is no logic behind the conflict showcased as the director thought that the audience would overlook such issues and concentrate on the comedy. But that does not happen and the film falls flat.

There is no sense of seriousness in Pareshan as the proceedings are marred by silly and over-the-top scenes. Thiruveer is the only actor who makes sense in this chaotic setup. His performance as the man in a tense situation is showcased nicely by the young actor. The rest of the cast is not even worth mentioning here. Pareshan has a love track that is outdated and has nothing new to showcase.

There are a few scenes that have tongue-in-cheek humor but the rest of the scenes are not that entertaining. Also, as the film is set in hardcore Telangana, audiences from other regions might find it hard to connect. The music by Yashwant Nag is bad and the editing is pathetic. The visuals look decent as the village atmosphere is captured well by Vasu Pandem.

Pareshan is directed by Rupak Ronaldson and his execution is below par. He has written a few comedy scenes and set the film in a rural backdrop with minor issues as the conflict. But the way he has executed the emotional part is quite disappointing. Not only do you fail to connect to the characters, one gets a feeling as to why such a bland storyline is made into a movie in the first place.

Verdict

On the whole, Pareshan is an over-the-top village drama that tries hard to cash in on the Telangana comedy trend. It has nothing going its way and apart from a few comedy scenes, the film lacks basic emotion and tests your patience.
