Pennu Case Story - A peculiar case involving a young woman named Rohini who is accused of deceiving numerous guys in Kerala and Karnataka after marrying them presents itself to police officer Manoj. Is Rohini a victim of a powerful criminal group, or is there a dark side to this woman?
Pennu Case Review - With Nikhila Vimal's performance taking main stage, director Febin Sidharth makes his debut with nothing more of less than a decent entertainer. The film somehow keeps the audience interested despite having the clichéd elements of a comedic drama, with its climax serving as its backbone.
When a young woman named Rohini is taken into custody for deceiving men in the name of marriage, police officer Manoj finds himself in an unusual situation. Even though Manoj and his group of police officers find it amusing to hear about her deceiving guys in different rural areas of Kerala and Karnataka, they eventually start looking for the truth about her actions. The central question of the movie is whether Rohini is a criminal or a victim of a big criminal network.
The movie moves swiftly to reveal each character without going into too much depth thanks to a simple yet predictable plot that is based on real events. Nonetheless, the filmmakers should be commended for their attempts to add a suspenseful element by using decoys till the very end. The preachy aspect of gender inequality is not explored in Pennu Case, nor does it fall into the category of portraying women as victims. The film never adopts a female-centric perspective or praises the protagonist's past for her deeds. Rather, it features a protagonist, regardless of gender, who has the courage to take matters into her own hands during a crisis.

Pennu Case's climax is what sets it different, as the initial reviews of the movie stated. The director deserve praise for adding a clever twist that elevates the viewing experience of this flick ffrom being merely bland to enjoyable, even though it may not appear mind-bending. Another favourable feature of Pennu Case is that it maintains an crisp duration with uncluttered subplots.
In this movie, Nikhila Vimal's portrayal of Rohini steals the show. It's admirable that she can create the impression of a girl next door who appears to be a trickster. She is undoubtedly one of the very few Malayalam actresses who can sustain a movie with their lead performance. Ramesh Pisharody, Hakim Shahjahan, and Aju Varghese all put up impressive performances. Ankit Menon's music gives the movie the right kind of appeal while other technical aspects have a decent level of quality.
Pennu Case Verdict - Nikhila Vimal keeps this comedy film together with her performance as Rohini. Other than that, this movie is an average one-time watchable entertainer.
